Privacy policy

Draft pending legal review. It describes how the product works today, but it isn't final and parts are still to be completed.

Who we are

DUSK Handoff is a product of DUSK Technologies, part of DUSK Enterprises. DUSK Technologies is the trading name of Dan Mackenzie, a sole trader, of Brownshill Road, Stroud, Cotswolds GL6 8AS, United Kingdom. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, email privacy@dusk.solutions. For help with the product, email support@dusk.solutions.

Roles

For the content agencies and their clients add, the agency is the controller and DUSK Handoff acts as its processor. For agency accounts, billing and this website, DUSK Handoff is the controller.

What we hold

Agency account details (name, email, role), organisation and billing status, project content and files clients submit, approval decisions and notes, exports, and an audit log of actions (who did what and when, without content). Client link holders are identified only by the link and, where the agency asks, their email address.

Why

To provide the service you signed up for (contract), to keep it secure and prevent abuse (legitimate interests), and to meet legal obligations such as keeping billing records.

Where it's stored

The application runs on Cloudflare; the database is hosted in London (Neon, eu-west-2); files are stored privately on Cloudflare R2. See the sub-processors list for every provider.

How long

Archived projects are deleted after the period the agency chooses (90 days to 2 years, default 1 year). An agency can delete its organisation at any time; data is purged 14 days after the request. Billing records are kept as long as the law requires.

AI

DUSK Handoff has no AI features and does not send client content to AI providers or use it to train models.

Your rights

You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy of your data, and object to processing, by emailing privacy@dusk.solutions. Agency owners can export or delete their organisation's data from the Data page. Clients should contact the agency that sent their link first. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
